ITIL v3 Update Project 18 February 2010
In August 2009, the OGC announced it was going to update the core publications of ITIL v3. In the mean time it has assigned authors and established a governance and development. The ‘More Information’ link includes a document which gives an overview of the approach to the present update of the ITIL V3 core publications. It outlines the scope, plans and governance structure of the update work. It also shows the way in which the proposed structure and scope supports improvements recommended by the ITIL Change Advisory Board. The Board analyzed issues logged between the V3 publication date and November 2009. Finally, an approximate guide to development timescales is given.

ISO/IEC 27002 Advanced Now Available! 4 January 2010
InterProm USA is proud to announce that we now offer the ISO/IEC 27002 Information Security Management Advanced Certification training course! This 3-day hands-on course provides a unique non-technical angle to the information security management challenges of today’s IT service providers. What further distinguishes this course from others is its links to IT Service Management. This makes the course a welcome addition to the ITIL Intermediate and Expert courses, which lack the Information Security Management focus.
The ISO/IEC 27002 Advanced course requires the ISO/IEC 27002 Foundation certificate or an equivalent certificate. The course is offered in multiple cities in the US as well as onsite. We anticipate offering the course in a virtual format by March 2010.

ITIL v2 Withdrawal 29 October 2009
Today at the itSMF International Chapter Leadership meeting in Barcelona Spain, the timeline for the withdrawal of ITIL v2 was announced. The announcement followed the review of the results from the joint survey undertaken by the itSMF International on behalf of the UK OGC.

Based on the feedback of the community the OGC announced that removal of the version 2 (exams and publications) to be completed globally by June 30, 2011. The removal will take place in a phased approach with all with all language variants of individual qualifications and publications being removed at the same time.

Education Dates:

- ITIL v2 Foundation to cease June 30, 2010
- ITIL v2 Manager to cease August 31, 2010
- ITIL v2 Practitioner to cease Dec 31, 2010
- ITIL v2-v3 Foundation Bridge to cease Dec 31, 2010
(All of the above will be available for re-sits until June 30, 2011)
- ITIL v2-v3 Manager Bridge to cease June 30, 2011

Publication Dates:

- Service Support publications will be removed on June 30, 2011
- Service Delivery publications will be removed on June 30, 2011
- Availability of all other v2 publications to be considered as reprinting required with the proviso that they will be removed no later than June 30, 2011.
This announcement has been some time in coming and followed the availability of ITIL v3 publications and education in multiple languages which the itSMF International and Chapters have been heavily promoting.
This announcement also reflects the examination data which had for some time identified that the majority of examinations are now based on v3.

ITIL v3 Foundation Bridge Changes 7 January 2009
APMG has announced that the duration of the ITIL v3 Foundation Bridge will change after May 1st, 2009. Currently, the required duration is 6.5 hours. After May 1st the required duration will be 9.5 hours. The main reasons for this increase in duration are some significant changes in the course curriculum. Some topics have been removed such as the Service V model, Service Sourcing and Service Portfolio Management, while others have been added. Examples of additions are Types of Changes, Remediation Planning, Knowledge Management and the role of KPIs. As a result of this the course will last 1.5 days and therefore the course fees will increase. For those who are considering participating in an ITIL v3 Foundation Bridge course we recommend registering for a class prior to May 1st and benefit from lower course fees.

ITIL v3 Foundation Curriculum Change26 October 2007
At the Qualification Board Meeting of 10-26-2007, APMG confirmed that they will remove Service Strategy and Continual Service Improvement requirements from the ITIL V3 Foundation Exam Syllabus. It is expected that the adjustments will be made by December 1, 2007 and a new V3 Syllabus will be issued. The exam version will also be updated to reflect the change.
This change is a direct result from input received from the ITIL Training Community.
We will provide you with further information as it becomes available.

The moment the US Dollar becomes stronger again we promise to lower the prices again. InterProm USA is a consulting and training firm and reselling publications is not our core business. This is why we can keep our prices low. This has been our policy since 2001 when we started reselling ITIL/ITSM-related publications, which has resulted in the lowest prices in the market. Why pay more?

EXIN/ISEB reach agreement with APMG26 January 2007
On 26 January, 2007, the APM Group (APMG), Exin and BCS-ISEB signed an agreement that will allow EXIN and ISEB to continue offering ITIL V2 exams, in addition to being able to offer the upcoming ITIL V3 ITIL Foundation exam.

New Practitioner Courses13 November 2006
In April 2007, EXIN will release the exam requirements for the ITIL Practitioner Agree and Define certification training course. This course includes Service Level Management and Financial Management for IT Services. In July 2007, EXIN will release the exam requirements for ITIL Practitioner Plan and Improve, which combines Capacity Mgmt, IT Service Continuity Mgmt and Availability Mgmt. As of 1-1-2007 all 2-day Practitioner certification training courses will be discontinued, except for Service Level Mgmt and Security Mgmt. Both will retire on 1-1-2008.
